The Solo Spot
Don’t have enough people for a hunting party? Tired of competing with other hunters who get in your way? Don’t despair. Our 18 acres offer a large population of deer in an area where not many people hunt, so the chances of success are high.
This is the perfect place for a single hunter. We realize that your deer hunt may be your only vacation, and you saved all year for this hunt. Here is your opportunity for that deer hunt without competing with other hunters. You have exclusive use of the property during your hunt. You won’t deal with other hunters or random strangers disturbing your hunt time and scaring off the bucks.
We only schedule 2 hunts per year. Local outfitters ship you out to rented parcels here where you share the land. And they rent the same land week after week, which puts a lot of pressure on the deer population. In this area, local outfitters typically charge around $2,400 per hunter for a six day hunt with less than ideal conditions. We charge substantially less for a 7 day hunt and ideal conditions.
Capitalize on the land’s natural features: a large meadow, a stream, and woods with trails. With a variety of habitats, set up your blind with easy shots to the creek and meadow. Our terrain is flat ground and gently rolling hills with a creek that intersects the property. There are fields, woods, and brambles that provide good cover and feed for deer all year long.
The property is located in Ohio’s Licking County, about 5 miles from Buckeye Lake, 30 minutes from Columbus and easy access to I-70. Licking County is called the home of the big bucks and is considered one of Ohio’s trophy buck counties. There is no public hunting in Licking County and larger tracts of land are quickly being sub-divided. In an area that is increasingly turning into suburbs with few people hunting in the vicinity, our 18 acres are a lot more. To one side of the property, there’s nearly 150 acres of privately owned woods and fields. To the back and the other side of the property, there’s more than 200 acres of privately owned fallow fields. Though you can’t hunt on the other privately owned properties, the deer come and go as they please.
This is an immersive experience for hunters looking for a minimally hunted spot, and close to civilization. It is small, but it is a gem. Whether you’re looking for a thrilling hunt or the chance to observe wildlife, the setup here makes it one of the best places to experience nature and hunting to its fullest.
